UP NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria

Here is the information on UP NEET UG Counselling Eligibility Criteria in a table format:

Eligibility Criteria	Details
Nationality	Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are eligible.
Domicile	Candidates must be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh or have a valid Uttar Pradesh residency certificate.
Educational Qualifications	Applicants must have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as mandatory subjects.
Minimum Aggregate Marks	General category candidates must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination.
	Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) must have 40% aggregate marks.
Age Limit	Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit for NEET UG, as per the latest regulations.
NEET UG Qualification	Aspirants must have qualified in the NEET UG examination and obtained the minimum qualifying percentile as determined by the regulatory authorities.
Mandatory Subjects in Qualifying Exam	It is mandatory for candidates to have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English in the qualifying examination.
Document Verification	Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are eligible.

Uttar Pradesh NEET UG Counselling Procedure

Candidates can visit the official portal of the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Lucknow, UP, to get themselves registered for NEET 2025 Uttar Pradesh State Counselling. Below we have mentioned the step-by-step process of counselling.

Step 1- Online Registration

• Candidates can apply online by visiting the website https://upneet.gov.in.
• For registration, the candidates will use their NEET-UG roll no. and email I.D. (used in AI-NEET-UG registration) and follow the instructions on the screen.
• After that, the candidate’s AI-NEET-UG registration details will be displayed.
• The candidate will make an online (Net banking/ Credit/ Debit Card) payment of 2,000 rupees. SMS will be sent to their registered mobile no (used for AI-NEET UG registration) to confirm successful registration.
• For the password you created at the time of registration, kindly note this password for choice-filling.
• After a successful payment, candidates will get a Transaction number and registration number on their registered mobile number.

Step 2: Online Security Money Payment

• Those aspirants are eligible for choice filling who will build a successful online payment of Rs.30,000/- for Government seats & Rs. 2,00,000/- for Private seats as security money.
• After paying for security money and the state merit list has been announced, online seat choice filling will be available per the earlier schedule.
• Candidates would be able to take a printout of their online payment receipt.

Step 3: Merit Declaration

• State merit, the list reference shall be AI-NEET-UG 2025 ranking.
• The final merit list will be published on the website.

Step 4: Online choice filling

• Visit the official website and click on the choice filling.
• After logging in, the choice-filling can be done in several sessions, but remember to save and continue; otherwise, you lose your work.
• The choice filling will not be complete until you finally submit and lock.
• After choice filling, seat allotment results will be displayed online.

Step 5: Seat Allotment

• Login to the website. Your seat allotment will be displayed.

Documents Required

Candidates allotted a seat at UP NEET 2025 Counselling will be asked to report the following documents to complete the admission formalities.

• 10th Certificate.
• 12th Certificate.
• 12th Mark Sheet.
• NEET UG 2025 Admit Card.
• NEET UG 2025 Result/Scorecard.
• Category Certificate (if applicable).
• Domicile Certificate (for Uttar Pradesh candidates only).
• Certificate of Sub Category, If Applicable.
• ID Proof (Aadhaar Card/Voter card etc.)

After receiving your allotment letter

• Pay Fees: Follow instructions on the letter and university website to pay the centralized advance tuition fee.
• Report to College: Visit the allotted college in person within the specified timeframe. Bring the following documents:

Security Money

The candidates must pay security through a demand draft favoring the Director General, Medical Education & Training, UP. The Demand Draft will be payable at the nodal office in Lucknow. The security money will be returned to the candidates after completing the admission procedure to Medical College. The Security money will be paid at the time of the Document Verification.
