Telangana NEET PG Counselling 2024 Final Merit List Released, Round 1 Choice Filling Open

The Telangana NEET PG Counselling 2024 Round 1 choice filling and locking process is open until 8 PM on December 31, 2024, for students seeking admission to PG medical courses under the competent authority quota in Telangana.

The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has released the provisional final merit list for Telangana NEET PG counselling 2024. Candidates can access the merit list on the official website, knruhs.telangana.gov.in. The counselling process faced delays due to discrepancies in the state merit list and a last-minute change in domicile rules announced just two days before the process began.

The new rule required PG medical aspirants to have completed at least four consecutive years of schooling in Telangana to qualify for state quota seats, even if they had obtained their MBBS degree from a medical college in the state.

This decision was met with opposition from student groups such as the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi. Despite the controversy, KNRUHS published a revised provisional merit list, declaring over 3,000 candidates eligible for counselling while disqualifying 30 candidates for reasons such as low percentiles or completing their MBBS in other states. Candidates were allowed to report any discrepancies in the list by December 28, 2024.
