NEET UG 2025: NTA Restricts NEET 2025 to Only Govt Colleges After Paper Leak

NTA mandates NEET-UG 2025 exams in government colleges to prevent paper leaks, with officials identifying new centers.

NEET UG 2025 Exam Update: In response to last year’s paper leak case in Jharkhand, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has directed the use of solely government colleges as exam centres for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG), which will be held on May 4. District officials are proactively seeking new centres in order to enforce compliance, keeping away from institutes used a year ago.

Nalgonda Collector Ila Tripathi and officials from other departments went to Mahatma Gandhi University on Friday to open a NEET centre.

“According to government guidelines, NEET centres should be opened only at government institutions. We checked the university campus for this purpose,” Tripathi said.

Last year’s leak of the NEET question paper was traced back to Oasis School, a private school in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district. Its principal and vice-principal were arrested because of this.

About 24 lakh students sit for NEET every year, dreaming of medical seats. NEET 2025 will be conducted in 552 cities across India and 14 abroad. The test will be held in more than 20 cities in Telangana.
