NEET UG 2025: No Aadhar Match, No Exam!

NTA will conduct NEET UG 2025 on May 4 with mandatory Aadhaar verification and face recognition to prevent impersonation and ensure exam integrity.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG 2025 exam on May 4. This year, the agency has introduced stricter verification procedures at exam centres to ensure a fraud-free process. Candidates whose Aadhaar card details do not match during verification will be disqualified. For the first time, NTA will also implement mandatory face recognition technology to verify candidates’ identities.

NEET UG 2025 Aadhar Verification Mandatory

NTA has made it clear: students must have Aadhaar details that match the information provided in the NEET application exactly. If the Aadhaar authentication fails at the exam centre, the candidate will not be allowed to take the test. This strict rule comes in response to past cases of impersonation. Face recognition will serve as an additional layer of verification. If a candidate fails this verification, they may be barred from entering the centre.

Fraud Cases Prompt Tighter Rules

Following recent impersonation incidents—particularly a high-profile case in Bihar where the CBI registered a complaint in January 2025 involving four students who used impersonators—NTA has tightened its regulations. To prevent similar frauds, the agency has made face recognition mandatory.

Important Dates: City Slip and Admit Card

Candidates can download their exam city slip from the official NTA website starting April 26 by entering their date of birth and application number. Admit cards will be available on May 1, just three days before the exam. NEET UG 2025 will be held across more than 105 centres in 35 cities in Bihar.

Enhanced Security at Centres

To improve security, NTA has asked local authorities to arrange centres only in government buildings. In previous years, some private CBSE schools were used, but due to concerns about paper leaks, the agency is now focusing on safer, government-managed venues. These centres will feature advanced CCTV monitoring and upgraded ID verification systems.

How to Ensure a Smooth Entry on Exam Day

Candidates should update and verify their Aadhaar details before the exam. The information must exactly match the NEET application form. A clean face scan and a valid photo ID are essential. Arriving early and carrying all required documents will help avoid any last-minute issues.

Why Face Recognition Is Crucial This Year

The introduction of face recognition technology aims to eliminate impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates appear for the exam. NTA’s move highlights its commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the examination process.
