Minimum Class 12 Percentage Requirements for NEET 2025

NEET is conducted annually for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs across India. Due to the intense competition, understanding the eligibility criteria is crucial. The minimum Class 12 percentage requirements for NEET 2025 vary by category, including General, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD).

General Category

General category candidates must secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in Class 12.

SC/ST/OBC (NCL) Categories

Candidates in SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories need to achieve a minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

PwBD/PwD Category

Candidates in the PwBD/PwD category are required to obtain at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

Students from Abroad

Candidates who study abroad and seek admission into Indian medical colleges must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with at least 50% marks in Class 12. The equivalence of their qualifications is determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per guidelines from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the respective university.

NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear in NEET 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age Limit: Minimum age of 17 years as of December 31, 2025; no upper age limit.
  • Educational Qualification: Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects.
  • Nationality: Open to Indian Citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), and Foreign Nationals.
