NEET PG: The Medical Council Committee (MCC) has released the eligibility criteria for stray vacancy round counseling. There are 2562 vacant seats and Maharashtra has the most vacant seats. The official notification, released by the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, outlines key points that candidates must adhere to for participation in this round.
Stray Vacancy Round Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility of Candidates for Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling to be
conducted by MCC and State Counselling are:
- Candidates who are not holding any seat either in the All India Quota or State Quota are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling 2024 to be conducted by MCC.
- Candidates who did not join their seats allotted through MCC in Round 3 are ‘Not Eligible’ to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling 2024 of MCC. However, ‘Not Reported’ candidates of Round 3 of MCC counseling can participate in state PG counseling.
- Candidates who have joined State quota seats through earlier Rounds are not eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling 2024 of MCC.
- Candidates who were allotted a seat in the State Quota but have “Not Joined/Not Reported”, are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.
- The Security Deposit of candidates who do not join their allotted seat in the Stray Vacancy Round will be forfeited and such candidates will be debarred from taking the NEET exam for the next year
The Data of Joined candidates of Round 3 conducted by MCC will be shared with
state counselling authorities and such candidates will be debarred from taking
admission in state quota counseling.
