NEW DELHI: Rajasthan and Maharashtra have postponed the seat allotment results for the third round of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET PG) counselling 2024 due to different reasons. The Supreme Court, earlier today, dismissed a plea seeking the cancellation of round 3 allotments under the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) NEET PG counselling, thereby authorizing the continuation of admission processes.
The Director General of Medical Education (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has extended the deadline for candidates to report to their allotted institutes until December 10, 2025.
Candidates Demand Fresh Counselling Amid Delays
Several candidates have demanded fresh NEET PG round 3 counselling for 2024, citing allegations of seat blocking by state quota aspirants, particularly after persistent delays in Madhya Pradesh NEET PG counselling. Aspirants continue to face challenges due to ongoing court cases and a lack of synchronization between the All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota counselling. The MCC has already extended the counselling schedule multiple times to accommodate the reduced NEET PG cut-off and address representations from participants.
Odisha has also deferred round 3 counselling without providing a specific reason. Meanwhile, Karnataka has extended its NEET PG counselling mop-up round. The Karnataka High Court cancelled seats allotted to students with AIQ allotments and directed the MCC to extend the reporting period, allowing these candidates to join. The vacated seats will be allocated during the stray vacancy round for state candidates.
Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Update
The Rajasthan counselling board announced the postponement of round 3 state NEET PG counselling results, citing the extension of the joining date for round 3 of All India Counselling by the MCC. The seat allotment list, initially scheduled for release on February 5, will now be declared at a later date.
Maharashtra NEET PG Counselling Update
The Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, postponed the selection list for CAP-3 due to updates in in-service candidate data by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) on February 5, 2025. The CET Cell had previously revised the Maharashtra NEET PG round 3 counselling schedule, with the provisional selection list initially set for release on February 6.
