MCC Reopens NEET PG Counselling 2024 Registration; Vacate Round 1 & 2 Seats by Dec 31

Candidates can resign from round 1 and 2 AIQ seats with a forfeiture of the security deposit by 5 PM on December 31.

NEET PG Counselling 2024: In response to candidate requests, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reopened the option to resign from round 1 and 2 seats in the NEET PG 2024 counselling, with the forfeiture of the security deposit. This decision follows the announcement of seat allotment results for state counselling. MCC has updated its official website, mcc.nic.in, announcing that candidates must vacate their seats by December 31, 2024.

Candidates allotted All India Quota (AIQ) seats in the first or second round of NEET PG 2024 counselling can resign using the process specified earlier by the admission authority. The MCC stated, “Candidates can resign with forfeiture of the Security Deposit for Round 1 and Round 2 seats of PG Counselling 2024 until 5:00 PM on December 30, 2024, following multiple requests.” Initially, MCC allowed candidates to vacate their seats between December 17 and December 26, 2024, clarifying that round 2 rules would apply, leading to the forfeiture of the security deposit. The committee has also issued guidelines for resignation.

The Telangana State NEET PG counselling 2024 has released the round 1 merit list, while Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Haryana have announced the round 2 seat allotment results. Recently, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Telangana State urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to expedite the Telangana NEET PG counselling 2024 process and requested that MCC extend the AIQ resignation period for Telangana students. Meanwhile, the central counselling committee has started the NEET PG round 3 counselling 2024, with the application deadline set for January 1, 2025.
