Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh continues to promote Hindi as a medium of education in higher studies. Following the introduction of MBBS and engineering courses in Hindi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently announced that Unani medicine will also be taught in Hindi in the state. Additionally, 11 new Ayurvedic colleges are set to be established soon.
Speaking at a three-day Arogya Mela and National Seminar under Ayurveda Parv-2025 held at Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College and Institute in Bhopal, CM Yadav highlighted the state’s commitment to promoting Hindi in education.
He stated, “Madhya Pradesh has been at the forefront of using Hindi as the medium for teaching various branches of medicine, including allopathy. Now, Unani medicine will also be taught in Hindi.”
The Chief Minister further underscored the importance of Ayurveda, calling it an authentic and holistic approach to achieving well-being at every stage of life. He reiterated the ancient principle of “Jivete Sharad Shatam,” advocating for a hundred years of healthy living through Ayurveda. He also emphasized the global appeal of Ayurveda, stating that India stands as its ambassador, with the world eager to adopt this centuries-old tradition.
As part of the state’s initiatives under the New Education Policy, universities have been granted permission to offer diverse courses, including Ayurvedic, medical, paramedical, and nursing programs.

- Establishment of 11 new Ayurvedic colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
- Plans to set up the All India Ayurveda Institute in Ujjain.
- State assistance for setting up Ayurvedic product manufacturing units.
CM Yadav stressed that nature provides remedies for all ailments and that Ayurveda, combined with yoga and the knowledge of plants, offers a profound system for maintaining health and enhancing the quality of life.
