NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin the Class 10 and 12 board examinations tomorrow, February 15, 2025. The Class 10 exams will begin with English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature), and the Class 12 students will write the entrepreneurship exam.
The examinations will be conducted by CBSE in one shift, i.e., from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM for a duration of three hours. Extra 15 minutes will be provided to the students to read the question paper. This year, CBSE issued the Class 10 and 12 exam date sheet 86 days prior to the examinations.
Admit Card Instructions
Students have to bring their CBSE admit card 2025 and school identification for admission to the examination hall. CBSE released the admit cards for Class 10 and 12 board examinations on February 3, 2025. Admit cards for regular students can be downloaded from the Pariksha Sangam portal by the schools, whereas private candidates can download it from the official website of CBSE, cbse.gov.in. Regular students who have not collected their admit cards yet must take it from their respective schools.
Exam Timetable and Security Arrangements
The Class 10 board exams will finish on March 18 with Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence papers. The Class 12 board exams will finish on April 4 with the Psychology paper.
CBSE will hold the board exams for about 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools. All centers will be provided with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance to ensure increased exam security.
In the wake of reports of Class 10 and 12 syllabus cut down, CBSE made it clear that the syllabus is unchanged, refuting reports of the syllabus being cut down by 15%. The board further confirmed that open-book exams won’t be added this year either.
Prohibited Items in Exam Hall
- Electronic gadgets: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, and cameras are not allowed.
- Written or printed materials: Any unauthorized written or printed matter is prohibited.
- Personal belongings: Wallets and handbags are not permitted.
- Food items: No food is allowed except for students with diabetes.
- Calculators: Only students with Dyscalculia are allowed to use calculators.
- Consequences of violation: Breaking these rules may lead to the cancellation of both this year’s and next year’s exams.
