Al-Karim University is a prestigious institution of higher education located in the city of Katihar in Bihar, India. The university was established in 2018 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various disciplines, including engineering, management, commerce, law, education, and humanities. Under the recommendation of Sunil Mukherjee Committee & Mudaliar Committee, constituted during the era of the then Chief Minister of Bihar, that a medical college be founded in Katihar or Nalanda Medical College be shifted from Patna to Katihar, Al-Karim Educational Trust, Patna was established in the year 1986. Subsequently, Katihar Medical College was established by the trust in May 1987.
The university’s vision is to provide quality education to the youth of Bihar and neighbouring states and to become a centre of excellence in higher education. | MBBS | Candidates seeking admission in the MBBS course in the 2024-25 session have to take the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The university or the college shall entertain no direct application for admission to the MBBS course. NEET-UG 2024 examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) or an agency authorized by the Central Government/NMC. For admission, after qualifying for the NEET-UG 2024 examination, the candidate must apply through the BCECE Board, Government of Bihar. |
| Bachelor of Physiotherapy | For admission, a candidate should have passed a 10+2 examination from a recognized university/ board with PCB and a minimum of 45% marks. The applicant’s age should be at least 17 years as of 31st December in the year of admission. |
