6 Types of NEET UG Questions and How to Approach Them

  1. Simple one-liner question: This is the easiest part of the question paper which students solve first. You should also attempt it first. It will save you time.
  2. Correct/Incorrect and Not Type Questions: This type of question is not difficult but tricky. You should carefully read the question paper and mark the keywords Correct, Incorrect, and Not.
  3. Match the following types of questions: Matching-type questions are asked where the students are required to find the mismatched or the correctly matched option. You should approach this type of question by first going through options and filtering out common answers.
  4. Multiple option questions: Just like the match the following type question, here also look for common answers in the given option and use the elimination technique to solve it.
  5. Two statement-based questions: Read the question very carefully and break it down into simple parts. And then analyse it and try to rationalise it with another statement.
  6. Assertion and Reasoning type questions: Along with two statement-based questions, this is one of the toughest and most time-consuming sections of the question paper. In these questions, firstly a statement is given under the heading ‘Assertion’, and then below this another statement is given under the heading ‘Reason’. First of all, you have to check whether the statement given under ‘Reason’ is correct or not. If yes, you have to check whether this statement is a correct explanation of what is asserted above. Based on this, you have to mark the choice.
